Attafuah SHS Headmaster ‘Hot’ Over Embargo Placed On Teachers’ Salaries

Teachers at Attafuah Senior High Technical School in the Birim Central Municipality of the Eastern Region have voiced their dissatisfaction with their headmaster for placing an embargo on the salaries of about eight teachers.

The reports state that this is a result of their persistent absences from class.

Meanwhile; the teachers have denied the headmaster’s accusations about their frequent absences from class.

Speaking with the affected teachers who mustered the bravery to air their grievances in public, they revealed that Mr. Francis Koomson Barnes, the headmaster of Attacuah SHS, had placed an embargo on approximately eight teachers without a legitimate reason.

Thus, they have petitioned the Ghana Education Service and the Birim Central Municipal Education Directorate to summon the headmaster.

Additionally, they threaten to sue him in court.

Speaking to the media, Mr. Francis Koomson Barnes, the headmaster of Attacuah Senior High Technical School, refuted all of the accusations made against him and clarified that he is merely taking the necessary steps to make sure the school is operating efficiently.

Additionally, he said that he has sent all information regarding the events at the school to the Birim Central Municipal Education Directorate.

As a result, he will plead with parents and students not to panic because the issue won’t interrupt teaching and learning in the school.
