The grand finale of Ahenkan FM’s Kiddafest 2024 took place on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at the Akyem Aboabo durbar grounds. Ten talented young individuals from five schools within the Akyemansa bloc competed for the top spot.
Fosuah Pinoko, a student from Hecta International School at Akim Oda, emerged as the winner with her exceptional poetic skills and captivating stage presence. Her winning poem, “Proud African,” was a thought-provoking and emotionally charged piece.
As the winner, Fosuah Pinoko received a cash prize of ¢1,500, a school bag, exercise books, and a branded Ahenkan FM pen.
Kevin Kumi, a gifted artist student of Akyem Aboabo Presby, took home the first runner-up prize, consisting of a cash award of ¢1,000, a school bag, exercise books, and a branded Ahenkan FM pen.
The speedometers dance group from Hecta International School, secured the second runner-up spot, receiving a cash prize of ¢500, a school bag, exercise books, and a branded Ahenkan FM pen.
All ten contestants received exercise books and branded Ahenkan FM pens in recognition of their outstanding talents.
Ahenkan FM’s Kiddafest event provided a platform for young and aspiring artists to showcase their skills and gain exposure. In an interview with the Daily Searchlight, Mr. Benjamin Acheampong, manager of the radio station, confirmed that the Kiddafest event will be held every year.
He expressed his excitement about the initiative, stating that it will provide a platform for young talents to showcase their skills.
