NPP Unveils Running Mate Today

The New Patriotic Party (NPP), will today July 9, 2024, unveil its Running Mate for the 2024 elections.

The political party on July 4, 2024, endorsed the flagbearer’s choice of a running mate for the governing political party’s ticket.

NAPO as he is affectionately called received a unanimous endorsement from the national council to back Dr Mahamudu Bawumia for the NPP ticket in 2024.

In a statement accepting his selection, NAPO as he is affectionately called said he was grateful for the opportunity to serve adding that there was a need for unity and a focus on breaking the eight as a political party.

After his selection, the party has since been on a spirited campaign to dispel claims of him being arrogant considering some of his public utterances.

He is expected to hit the ground running for the second phase of the NPP campaign to win the 2024 election.

Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh who has been the Education Minister and Energy Minister under the current administration is expected to bring his wealth of experience on board to help the NPP garner more votes in especially the Ashanti Region.

As a result of his selection as running mate, the Manhyia South seat has been declared vacant.

Interested persons are expected to file their nomination by the close of Tuesday, July 9, 2024, while primaries for the seat will be held on July 14, 2024.

There are a number of persons interested in the seat including the brother of the incumbent Member of Parliament.
