The Achiase District Assembly has commissioned a new market in the district at Achiase.
The new market will provide sufficient space for traders, enough security, and enough lighting to allow for 24-hour use of the facility.
The grand event, chaired by Daasebre Gyenin Kantan II, the chief of Achiase, was also graced by the DCE, Hon. Richmond Amponsah, the MP for Achiase, Hon. Kofi Ahenkorah Marfo, and the Deputy Minister of Employment and Labour Relations, Hon. Bright Wireku Brobbey.
The MP, Hon. Kofi Ahenkorah Marfo, who briefed the media on the project, said that this project is part of efforts to improve the livelihoods of his constituents as well as boost trade in his constituency.
According to him, the project was exclusively funded by the District Assembly and from his share of the MP’s common fund. He hinted at more projects in the pipeline.
He promised that he would work together with his DCE, Hon. Richmond Amponsah, to complete the outstanding road construction in the community.
On his part, Achiasehene, Daasebre Gyenin Kantan II, thanked the MP and the DCE for their good intentions for the people.
The chief believes this market will help decongest the choked Achiase market.
He asked the Achiase people to refrain from using tribal politics to unseat the sitting MP.
