Taxes Need To Be Reduced, Not Abolished – Alan Kyerematen

Mr. Alan Kyerematen, the founder of Movement for Change and independent presidential candidate for the 2024 general election, expressed his thoughts on Vice President Dr. Bawumia’s decision to eliminate some taxes if elected as president.

He asserts that removing taxes is not the way to improve the economy.

He went on to say that the government must lower the tax burden at a reasonable rate so that all Ghanaians can afford to pay their fair share of taxes.

Mr. Alan Kyerematen said that many Ghanaian businessmen are unable to register their companies under the GRA due to the high tax rates imposed on the country’s citizens.

Mr. Alan Kyerematen, however, continues to explain that eliminating levies and taxes like the E-levy and emission levy does not address the issues that Ghanaians are currently facing.

Finally, he said that the tax system should be reformed by the government.
