The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Eastern branch started vetting candidates for parliamentary primaries on January 3, 2023, in twenty-four Eastern Region constituencies that currently have serving Members of Parliament.
The vetting committee in the Eastern Region, led by Laud Commey, the director of operations at the president, is anticipated to see about 85 candidates.
Yesterday, candidates from the following eight seats underwent evaluations: Nkwakaw, New Juaben South, Suhum, Achiase, Kade, Ofoase Ayirebi, Atewa West, Akim Swedru, and Atewa.
Following the vetting of the candidates in the Akyem Swedru constituency, all three of the aspirants were approved.
In the approaching New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary primaries, Hon. Kennedy Osei Nyarko, the current member of parliament for the Akyem Swedru constituency, picked the top spot on the ballot.
Mr. Jerome Kwame Akordor picked the second slot, while Kwasi Kwaning Bosompem picked the third slot.
