Eastfield Foundation, the corporate social responsibility (CSR) arm of Ghana’s biggest orange plantation, Eastfield Farms has donated a 42-inch television set to the Akyem Aboabo Health Centre in Brim Central Municipality in the Eastern Region, on Wednesday, December 6, 2023.
Speaking with Ahenkan News, Mr. Kwame Dokyi Yeboah, the Public Relations Officer who presented the donation, explained that the organization was founded to support vulnerable individuals and farmers, especially those in farming communities.
He states that as part of its endeavor to assist the nation-building agenda, the East Field Foundation has contributed generously to numerous public and private organizations, particularly in rural areas.
He stated that the donation to Akyem Aboabo Health Center had the goal of ensuring that farmers and other vulnerable community people would be entertained during their visits and while them awaited quality medical attention.
On the same day, Madam Adelaide Thompson, an Australian nurse and native of Akyem Aboabo, gave two (2) sets of 32-inch televisions to the Health Center.
She thanked the East Field Foundation for its support of the Akyem Aboabo Health Centre and said she was happy to see that she wasn’t the only one.
She exhorted wealthy Akyem Aboabo natives and other non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to help the Health Center so that the facility would reach a higher standard.
Madam Agnes Adabrah, who is in charge of Akyem Aboabo Health Centre, received the items and expressed gratitude to the East Field Foundation, Madam Adelaide Thompson, for the thoughtful gift.
She appealed to other benevolent individuals and organizations to come to the aid of the health facility so that it could be upgraded to the polyclinic.
The assembly member for Akyem Aboabo, Hon. Emmanuel Appiah Kubi, adds that plans are in place to guarantee that the health center will be improved and turned into a polyclinic.
Additionally, he disclosed that preparations are underway to build a bungalow for the health work.
