Prices Have Reduced But Purschasing Is Low – Cement Dealers Hints

The price of cement surges above GH¢90 per 50-kilogram bag as the input costs of the manufacturers rise.

For about a year and a half, prices of cement started rising rapidly in Ghana.

Cement prices currently range from GH¢71 to GH¢88 per 50-kg bag, according to checks conducted by Ahenkan Business News at several retail dealers on Tuesday, November 28, 2023.

Comparably, it differs across the different sellers, such as Dangote, GHACEM, Diamond, Dzata, Cimaf, and Sol.

The decline in the value of the US dollar relative to the cedi has made the lowering feasible.

The dealers explained to reporters Nana Akua Adepa and Nana Yaa Kumiwaa of Ahenkan Business News that the rising operational costs are due to the importation of the raw materials used to make cement.

According to them, this year’s climate change, which caused more rain, has affected their business, causing buyers to make fewer purchases.
