The Maakye Foundation, a Non-Profit Organization (NGO) affiliated with Ahenkan FM, has given school uniforms and refreshments to over thirty (30) students at Yaw Sero basic schools in Akyem Kwadwo-Kumi in the Birim South District of the Eastern region.
The aim is to encourage school-going children who were not regular in school due to tattered uniforms and worn-out footwear to show commitment towards their education.
In an interview with the Headmistress of Yaw Sero Basic Schools, Madam Audrey Dzameh thanked Ahenkan FM and the Maakye Foundation for their generous donation.
She said that the donation arrived at the appropriate moment.
She added that the lack of these uniforms and other needs discourages students from attending school regularly.
In order for the Ahenkan FM Maakye Foundation to increase its donations, Madam Audrey Dzameh also thanked the organization’s sponsors and urged them to continue doing so.
Some parents in the predominantly farming communities said they are unable to afford uniforms for their children due to hardship.
They also thanked Ahenkan FM’s Maakye Foundation for helping their children.
Beneficiary students commended the Ahenkan FM Maakye Foundation for their support.
