Taaju Rahim, the 2024 National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Akyem Swedru constituency, has been confirmed as the District Chief Executive (MCE) of the Birim South District Assembly.
He secured an overwhelming 15 out of 16 votes, representing 93.75% of the total votes cast by assembly members.
Eastern Regional Minister, Hon. Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey, administered the oath of office, allegiance, and secrecy to Taaju Rahim during the swearing-in ceremony.
In his inaugural address, Taaju pledged to serve the municipality with dignity and integrity, committing to make progress-oriented decisions that would benefit the community.
Taaju expressed heartfelt gratitude to President Mahama for entrusting him with the responsibility and to the assembly members for their overwhelming support. He emphasized the importance of collaboration and appealed for maximum cooperation from assembly members and staff to ensure a successful tenure.
Interpreting his resounding endorsement as a clear mandate, Taaju Rahim committed to listening to and engaging with assembly members, working collectively to address the municipality’s challenges.
He assured the assembly of his dedication to promoting development and improving the well-being of residents.
Regional Minister Awatey congratulated Taaju Rahim on his confirmation, noting that the endorsement would accelerate development and set the assembly on the right footing.
She expressed optimism that the Birim South District Assembly would make significant strides in promoting development and improving the lives of residents under Taaju’s leadership.
As Taaju Rahim begins his tenure as DCE, expectations are high for his leadership and vision for the municipality. With the support of the assembly members and the regional minister, there is confidence that the Birim South District Assembly will effectively implement projects and programs that would improve the lives of residents.
