Mary Osei Kuffour, a senior staff nurse at the Akyem Aboabo Health Center, has urged residents of the Akyem Aboabo community in the Birim Central Municipality to keep checking their blood pressure (BP) on a regular basis.
In order to keep BP patients safe, she also recommended that they remain taking their prescribed medicines.
Mary Kuffour made these revelations on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at a free health screening at the community’s durbar grounds, sponsored by the Aboabo Health Center.
Four cases of critically low blood pressure were found after examining 76 people.
Since high blood pressure raises the risk of stroke, the principal community health nurse at Akyem Aboabo Health Center, Prince Amunti, urged the public to attend the facility on a regular basis to get their blood pressure checked.
