The driver and his mate were fortunate to escape unharmed when their Benz container car, bearing the license plate “GR 5004 A,” veered off the Asene-Oda highway and struck a tree in Akyem Asene.
The incident happened today, Monday, July 22, 2024, around 1:00 p.m..
The driver was on his way to deliver drinks to Akyem Oda from Agona Swedru when he attempted to swerve a pothole at Akyem Asene, which is across from the South Birim Rural Bank. Unfortunately, he got his car airborne and it somersaulted until it landed in the trees, according to an eyewitness who spoke with Ahenkan News.
Luckily, none of them got severely injured, with the locals saying the incident would have been deadly if it had occurred in a crowd.
Government representatives in the Asene Manso Akroso district were urged by residents and eyewitnesses to seal the portholes because it led to an excessive number of accidents.
Ahenkan News speaking with the driver, Mr. Kwasi Joseph, confirmed that he broke his spring after hitting a porthole in front of the bank, which led him to slip into the tree because automobiles were confronting him.
“I hit a pothole, breaking his spring, lost control of my car, and an accident happened” He explained
